Stow Food Pantry
 Celebrating 25 Years!

About Us

The Stow Food Pantry has been serving the town of Stow and the surrounding towns of Acton, Bolton, Lancaster, Maynard and Boxborough for over 25 years. Our Pantry is held at the First Parish Church in Stow on two Friday mornings each month. Our goal is to provide enough food to help a family eat for one week.

We are privately funded and rely on the generosity of the communities we serve. We are a fully volunteer organization operating under the leadership of a Board of Directors whose members are also unpaid volunteers.

We would like to acknowledge the Acton-Boxborough United Way for their ongoing support in the form of a generous grant.

How to Get Assistance

If you or your family needs help from the Stow Food Pantry, we are here for you.  Just call us at 978-897-4230 or email us at info@StowFoodPantry.org.  All inquiries are confidential.

Donate

*** Right now, through the end of July, Shaw's is holding a food drive for the Stow Food Pantry. Please consider stopping in and donating. Just purchase a ticket from the cashier in any denomination and your donation will be gladly received. The summer months are an especially thin donation time so this will help us a great deal! We also need some volunteers to sit at the table and hand out flyers, so if you are looking for something to do with your kids please contact us on 978.461.0730.

There are several ways to donate food and toiletries to the Stow Food Pantry.

  • Each fall the post office holds an annual "Postal Pantry Food Drive". During a one week period, residents can place one item in their mailbox for pick up by their carrier.
  • Organize a neighborhood food drive.
  • Drop off donated items in the Food Pantry container at the post office and at Shaw's.
  • Bring donations to the Food Pantry in the vestry at First Parish Church between 4 and 5 p.m. on the stocking dates (see table below).
  • Have money donated to the Pantry every time you shop on Amazon.com. Click on the following AmazonSmile link for the details.
  • If you would like to make a monetary donation, please mail a check to us at: Stow Food Pantry, Post Office Box 437, Stow, MA 01775. (Note: The Pantry is a 501(c)3 non-profit so all donations are tax deductible.)
       Thank you!!

We do not have large refrigerated or frozen storage capacity, so donations should be limited to non-perishable items such as:
  • Spaghetti sauce
  • Pasta
  • Lunchbox snacks
  • Canned vegetables and fruit
  • Crackers and cookies
  • Coffee and tea
  • Laundry detergent
  • Personal care items (toothpaste and brushes, deodorant, adult diapers, etc.)

Volunteer

Are you looking for a way to help families in need? If you have some time on the stocking dates shown in the table below, just drop by the Pantry around 4 p.m. and we'll put you to work! This is a busy time since we need to check expiration dates and distribute donations to their appropriate locations. There are also opportunities to work at the Friday pantries when our clients arrive. You must be at least 18 for this activity. For more information, contact us at 978-897-4230 and leave a message for our Volunteer Coordinator.
